Dark Canyon is a short, easy hike in the Domeland Wilderness, part of the Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about a mile long, with a one-way climb of about 100 feet from a low point of roughly 6,550 feet to a high of about 6,677 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, so it works for hikers and riders alike. It's an out-and-back route, and the whole trip fits easily into a day of exploring the surrounding wilderness. Rockhouse is the closest neighbor, about half a mile away. Woodpecker and Rattlesnake Creek are both about 2.6 miles off. For climbing, the Domeland Wilderness climbing area is about 3.1 miles away.
