Cold Stream is an easy hike of about 1.4 miles in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California, on Forest Service land. It is an out-and-back route, with a total elevation gain of 483 feet from the low point of 8,079 feet to the high point of 8,579 feet. The trail has a natural surface and allows biking, so riders can take the route as well as hikers. The Coldstream Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000 passes within about half a mile. Climbers can head to Deep Creek Crags, about 2.4 miles off, and paddlers can reach Cold Creek, roughly 3.1 miles away.
