Blackwood Creek Trail is a 3.2-mile out-and-back hike in California's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, with a moderate climb of 115 feet from a low point of 6,298 feet to a high of 6,424 feet. The trail is short and gentle, making it an easy addition to a day spent exploring the surrounding area. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Tahoma weather station, at a similar elevation, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 46°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. Eagle Rock and the Eagle Rock Trail both sit about half a mile away, and Lake Tahoe - West Shore is about 0.6 miles off. Kaspian Campground is roughly 0.8 miles away for an overnight stay.
