Whitehorse Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Mt. Hough Ranger District of Plumas National Forest, about 3 miles from Bucks Lake in California. It has 19 forested sites along Bucks Creek, and three of them are available for equestrians. The Bucks Creek Loop Trail passes through the campground, offering hiking and horseback riding from within the site. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Canyon Dam weather station show July highs around 86°F with lows near 50°F and only about one wet day in the month. Winter is much cooler, with January highs around 42°F and lows near 25°F. A fee is charged for recreation at the site. The Bucks Creek Loop Trail is about half a mile away, and Bucks Lake Recreation Area, a climbing area, is about 1.5 miles off. Mill Creek Family Campground is about 3 miles away, and Willow Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 4.9 miles away.
