Trail Creek is a Forest Service campground in the Scott River Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in California, set along the East Fork of the South Fork Salmon River at about 5,000 feet. The 12 campsites are well-shaded, and the site has vault toilets and potable water. Access is via Forest Rd. 39N08, off the paved Callahan-Cecilville Rd (County Rd. 1C02). The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Callahan weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 83°F, while July and August average near 90°F. That station sits well below the campground, so temperatures at Trail Creek run cooler. Several trails start close by, including Fish Lake Creek at under a mile and Twin Lakes at about 2 miles.
