Big Flat Campground sits in the Trinity Alps Wilderness, within the Salmon River Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in northern California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the camp is set in designated wilderness, which makes it a base for exploring the surrounding backcountry. Vault toilets are the only facility on site. The camp is not reservable, so plan to arrive with a spot in mind. Several trails start right at the camp. Yellow Rose and Caribou Lake are both about 0.1 mile away, and Tri-Forest is about 0.3 mile off. For climbing, the Trinity Alps climbing area is roughly 4.8 miles away.
