Tillie Creek #1 is a Forest Service group campground in the Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest, about 0.1 mile from Tillie Creek #2 and Tillie Creek #3. It sits near the west shore of Lake Isabella and offers camping for groups of 1 to 60 people. The site has vault toilets, shade shelter, picnic tables and fire rings. All developed campground areas on the Forest operate under a concessionaire permit, and a fee is charged for use. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 81°F, while July and August average in the upper 90s.
