Nordheimer is a Forest Service campground in the Salmon River Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in northern California. It sits within the district's recreation sites, and the land is managed by the Forest Service. The site has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for use. The main campground, Nordheimer Main Campground, is about 0.1 mile away, and the group campgrounds at Achillis and Blo are a similar distance off. That makes it easy to choose between regular camping and group sites. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Orleans weather station show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 71°F, while July and August average highs near 91°F. That station sits about 700 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run cooler. Hiking is close by, with Orleans Mountain about 0.2 mile away and Butler Mountain about 1.5 miles off.
