Big Meadows Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Georgetown Ranger District of Eldorado National Forest, about 22 miles east of Georgetown on Wentworth Springs Road and 27 miles northeast on Forest Highway 2. The Recreation Opportunity Guide for the site offers maps, directions and information to help plan a trip to the Eldorado National Forest. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Blue Canyon show July highs around 78°F with lows near 63°F and only about one wet day in the month. Winter is much cooler and wetter, with January highs around 47°F and lows near 34°F. The campground is not reservable. Hell Hole Campground sits just 0.6 miles away, and the Hellhole hike is about 1.2 miles off. Middle Meadows campground and the Middle Meadow hike are both roughly 2.6 miles away.
