Zeester Trail is a 3.15-mile moderate hike in Arkansas's Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, within the Buffalo Ranger District. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total gain of about 1,269 feet, so the one-way climb is roughly 578 feet. The high point is 2,440 feet, and the steepest stretch comes around the 1.3-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 19 percent. The trail sits on national forest land managed by the Forest Service, and the route is natural-surfaced. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Kingston put May highs around 72°F and October highs around 67°F, and temperatures at the trail's higher elevation run a bit cooler than at the station. The hike is open year-round and takes about 1.5 hours. Several other trails start close by, including Azalea Falls Trail about 0.2 miles away and Trail of the Ancients about 0.3 miles away.
