Twisted Pines is a short, easy hike in the Boston Mountain Ranger District of the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas, about a mile from the Lake Wedington Recreation Area. The trail is an out-and-back that rises about 22 feet from a low point of 1,137 feet to a high of 1,173 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.12 miles in. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fayetteville show October highs around 71°F with lows near 48°F, and April highs around 69°F. July and August average highs near 89°F. The trail is natural-surface and open year-round. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not, and the route is not accessible. Lake Wedington Rec. Area and Lake Wedington campground sit within a quarter mile, and the Wedington Lakeshore Trail is about 0.4 miles away.
