Shock & Awe is a short loop hike in Arkansas, about 0.6 miles long with a 100-foot elevation gain. It sits roughly 1.7 miles from Bella Vista, and it makes an easy addition to a day exploring the cluster of trails in this part of the state. The route rises to a high point of about 1,257 feet before the loop folds back down, and the steepest stretch comes near the start at about 9 percent grade. The total climb is one way, and the trip takes about half an hour, so you can fit it in between other outings on the same outing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gravette put April and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. Several other hikes lie close by. Tango Whiskey is about 0.1 mile away and Rendezvous about 0.2 mile. Tunnel Vision is roughly 0.8 mile off, and Coler Grove Camper Parking is about 6 miles away for an overnight stay.
