Fourche Mtn - Turner Cr East is a moderate hike of about 5.6 miles on natural trail surface in the Ouachita National Forest, in the Poteau Ranger District of Arkansas. The route is an out-and-back with a total climb of about 1,014 feet, reaching a high point of 1,502 feet before returning to the starting elevation of about 1,298 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about mile 1, with a 19% grade. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 69°F in April and October, while July highs average about 87°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. The hike takes about 2.5 hours to complete. Fourche Mtn - Rock Creek lies just 0.2 miles away, and the Fourche Mountain Trail is about 0.8 miles off. The Fourche LaFave River offers paddling about 6.7 miles away, and Mountain Top is a hike about 7 miles from the trail.
