Fourche Mtn - Rock Creek is an easy, short out-and-back hike on the Poteau Ranger District of Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas. The route sits within the Ouachita National Forest, which the Forest Service manages, and the trail is about 2.4 miles long. The climb is gentle, with a round-trip elevation gain of about 480 feet, and the high point reaches about 1,456 feet. The hike starts at around 1,333 feet and rises to the high point before returning, with the steepest stretch coming at about 0.65 miles in. At that pace, the trip takes roughly an hour. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 69°F and April highs around 69°F, with lows in the low 50s. That station sits about 250 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run a little cooler. The Fourche Mtn - Turner Cr East trail starts just 0.2 miles away, and the Fourche Mountain Trail is about 0.6 miles off. Mountain Top and the Fourche LaFave River, a canoeing route, both lie within about 7 miles.
