Ultimates East is a climbing area in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits about a tenth of a mile from Ultimates West, its neighbor, and is part of the same cluster of climbing spots in the Oak Creek Canyon area. The area has 27 routes, with 20 in trad and 6 in sport, and the grades run from 5.8+ up to 5.13-. A few examples are Knot What It Seams (5.8+), Through the Truffula Trees (5.10a) and The Beachcomber (5.12-). The hardest route is End of the Line, a sport climb at 5.13-. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mund's Park, at a similar elevation, show May highs around 69°F and October highs around 66°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. Other places close by include the Oak Creek Canyon Overlook climbing area, the Scott Springs #44 hike and the Oak Creek Vista mountain biking trail. Pine Flat Campground West is about 2 miles away.
