Stella Stone is a bouldering area in Saguaro National Park in Arizona, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, including Beast Boulder, Split Boulder and Panther Peak, all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a compact, close-together set of boulders rather than a long route, and it works well as a short stop within the park. The climbing here is all bouldering, with six routes listed and all rated V1 or V1- on the V scale. The easiest of them is I Eat Muddy Rocks, and the others include Chossage Fest, Dog Breath Arete and Streetcar Named Dihedral. The routes are short and sit close together, so a visit can be built around a few of them in one session. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tucson show March highs around 75°F and October highs around 86°F, while June and July average near 100°F. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock may run slightly cooler. A fee is charged for park use. Panther Peak WashTrail is about 0.8 mile away, and Safford Peak Trail and Pack Rat Trail are both within about a mile.
