Shady Grove is a climbing area in Arizona, about half a mile from the town of Granite Dells. It sits right next to two other climbing areas, The Corndog Wall and The Auto Shop, both about 0.1 mile away, which makes it easy to pair with those for a full day of climbing. The area has 15 routes, with 10 of them sport and 5 trad. The grades run from 5.4 up to 5.10c, with the median around 5.8. Among the sport routes, Working Class Hero is the hardest at 5.10c, and Great White is a 5.5. The trad route Staircase Crack Left is a 5.4 with a first ascent dating back to the Anasazi Children between 100 and 1600 A.D. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Prescott show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average about 90°F. For a change from climbing, the Gateway Trail and Soggy Bottom Trail are both about 0.3 mile away. Lynx Campground, about 6.5 miles off, and Lynx Lake Marina & Store Boating Site, about 6.2 miles away, offer camping and fishing.
