Middle Wall is a sport climbing area in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing walls, with Right Wall and Left Wall each about 0.1 mile away and Anvil Area about 0.3 mile off. The Ricochet Trail starts about 0.2 mile away. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.10b up to 5.12a. Shady Lane is the easiest at 5.10b, and When To Say When is the hardest at 5.12a. Bantam and Hatchling sit in the middle at 5.11c and 5.11d. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Ft Valley show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. That station sits about 1,270 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run cooler.
