Gremlins is a climbing area in Phoenix South Mountain Park, Arizona, on city land. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, including South Mountain, Wildlife Canyon and Bob Ross Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile. The area is close to several hiking trails, so it works well as a stop for climbers and hikers alike. The climbing here is sport-oriented, with 11 sport routes and one trad route among the 12 listed. Grades run from 5.5 to 5.11a, with the hardest route named Gremlins at 5.11a. Staring at the Sun is the only trad route, a 5.7 that was first climbed by SR and MK on May 22, 2019. Winter and early spring are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in South Phoenix show January highs around 67°F and lows near 42°F, while summer highs climb into the low 100s. That station sits about 390 feet lower than the park, so temperatures on the mountain run a little cooler. Nearby, Las Lomitas Trail is about 0.3 miles away and Judith Tunnell Challenge Trail about 0.5 miles. Bajada Trail and Max Delta Trail are each roughly 0.8 miles off.
