The Eagletail Mountains are a climbing area in Arizona on State Trust Land, managed by the State Department of Land. It is a compact crag with a small cluster of climbing routes, so it works well as a destination for a single climbing day or a short trip. The area has 10 routes, and the climbing covers a range of styles and grades. Five of the routes are traditional, four are bouldering and one is sport. Typical YDS grades run from 5.5 up to 5.10c/d, with bouldering rated from V0- to V3. Some of the named routes include Standard Route at 5.5, The Groover at 5.10c/d and Indie Buttress at 5.8, which was first climbed by John "Verm" Sherman and Larry Harpe in January 2015. For a change from the rock, several trails lie within a few miles. Javelina Summit Trail and Skyline Crest Trail are both just under 4 miles away, Quartz Mine Trail is about 4.3 miles off, and Petro Ridge is roughly 4.6 miles away.
