Lookout Mountain is a climbing area in Arizona, set within Lookout Mountain Preserve on county land. The preserve makes the natural base for the sport and top-rope routes that sit here, and the surrounding trails make it easy to pair a climb with a walk. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show March highs around 75°F and October highs around 86°F, while June and July average in the low to mid 100s. The climbing area has 12 routes, mostly sport, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.11d. Among them are Totally Trad (5.8), The Gnome (5.10a) and Falling Stars (5.11d). A top-rope route is also listed. Several other climbing areas lie within a few miles, including Beardsley Boulders Area and The Egg. Hikers can reach Old Trail 308 and Trail 25A within a mile.
