The Canyon Area is a bouldering area in the Bradshaw Ranger District of Prescott National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing spots, including the Moonstone, Leg Lock Rock and Bolt Rock Area and the Main Boulders, both about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 19 routes spread across the area. Grades run from V0- to V9-10, so there is something for climbers of all levels. Some of the named routes include Canyon Traverse (V0-), Spread'em (V0) and Osprey Tilt-Rotor (Joe's Problem) (V9-10). Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Prescott show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average about 90°F. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the canyon, so temperatures up here run cooler. Groom Creek Schoolhouse and Groom Creek Horse Camp are both about 0.3 mile away, and the Horsecamp Loop hike is a similar distance. Lynx Lake Recreation Area, about 4.6 miles off, offers fishing.
