Buttes is a climbing area in Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park, on land managed by the National Park Service. A fee is charged. The most comfortable climbing weather comes in late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs near 79°F. That station sits about 1,500 feet below the climbing area, so temperatures at Buttes run cooler. The South Kaibab Trail and the Rim Trail both lie about a mile away.
