Red Rock Loop #118 is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 3.4 miles in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona. The trail rises from a low point of about 4,194 feet to a high of about 4,471 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 265 feet. The trail is managed by the Forest Service, and the Lower Red Rock Loop Trailhead is the starting point, with parking labeled "LOWER RED ROCK LOOP." Dogs, bikes and horses are all allowed, so the route works for hikers, riders and equestrians. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. The "S" Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Red Rock Loop and Schuerman Mountain mountain biking routes are within a mile. For an overnight stay, Crescent Moon Ramada is about 2.5 miles off.
