Upper Blue Campground is a rustic Forest Service site in the Blue River Valley, within the Alpine Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona. It sits below the high bluffs and near the streamside, and it offers a quiet, off-the-beaten-path camping experience. The camp has three sites, two of which are Adirondack-style shelters. A 14-day stay limit applies. Vault toilets are the only facility. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from late spring into early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 75°F and September highs near 79°F, with July and August bringing about 14 to 15 wet days a month. Frieborn Canyon and Frieborn Access are both about 2 to 3 miles away. Blue Crossing Campground is roughly 5 miles off, and Luna Lake Marina offers lake fishing about 9 miles away.
