Huachuca is a moderate out-and-back hike in Arizona's Coronado National Forest, within the Sierra Vista Ranger District. The trail is about 5.6 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,625 feet, taking you from a low point of about 5,915 feet to a high of about 7,534 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Bikes are allowed, so the trail works for hikers and riders alike. The climb is steady, and the route makes a good base for exploring the surrounding area, which is dotted with other hikes and campgrounds. Lyle Canyon lies just 0.6 miles away, and Peterson Peak and Scotia Canyon Trail #127 are both within about 2 miles. For an overnight stay, Rock Bluff Group Site is about 2.9 miles off.
