Highland is a hike in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about 7 miles from Flagstaff. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that rises about 230 feet from a low point of 6,803 feet to a high of 7,068 feet. It is rated hard. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show May highs around 68°F and October highs around 64°F, while July and August bring the most wet days of the year. The trail sits close to several other spots. Griffith Springs and the Pumphouse Nature Trail are each about a mile away, and Pine Flat Campground is about 7 miles off. Marshall Lake, roughly 9 miles away, offers fishing.
