Dorsey Spring is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about 4.7 miles long with a total elevation gain of 1,638 feet. The trail starts at a parking area named Dorsey Spring, and the route climbs from a low point of about 6,183 feet to a high of about 6,941 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 2 miles in, with a grade of about 26 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Flagstaff show May highs around 67°F and September highs around 74°F, while July and August bring the most wet days.
