Mingus Mountain is a fishing lake in Arizona's Prescott National Forest, within the Verde Ranger District. It is managed by the Forest Service, and the surrounding land is part of the national forest. The Mingus View mountain biking area sits just 0.3 miles away, and Playground Campground (Mingus) and Mingus Mountain Campground are both within a mile. These make it a practical base for a longer stay in the area, with camping options close at hand. The Gaddes and Middle hikes are also within a mile of the lake. Reservations are not required for a visit here. The lake sits in a cluster of recreation sites, so plan a trip that combines fishing with time on the trails or a night under the stars at one of the nearby campgrounds.
