Roadside Crag is a sport climbing area in the Chino Valley Ranger District of Prescott National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of trails, campgrounds and mountain biking routes, with Yeager Canyon and Potato Patch Campground each about 0.7 miles away. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.8+ up to 5.11b/c. The most common grade is 5.10a, with Mingus Amongus at 5.11b/c as the hardest listed route. Drunken Pillar, at 5.8+, is the easiest. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Prescott run to highs around 68°F in April and 73°F in October, while July and August average about 90°F. That station sits roughly 1,600 feet lower than the crag, so temperatures at the climbing area run cooler. Nearby options include the Upper Mescal hike and the Mingus Mountain lake fishing area, both within about a mile. Cherry Creek Boulder, another climbing area, is about 10 miles away.
