Sun Wall is a climbing area in northeastern Alabama, about 1.6 miles from the town of Mackey. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, which makes it easy to build a day of bouldering or sport climbing from several different crags. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gadsden run from highs around 70°F in April to about 71°F in October, with fewer wet days in October than in most other months. Several climbing areas lie right next to Sun Wall, including Grotto, Hole, The, Sand Rock Bouldering and Sandtrap, The, all about 0.1 mile away. For a change of pace, Weiss Lake is roughly 9 miles away and offers fishing.
