Boy Scout Wall is a climbing area in Alabama, about 1.7 miles from the town of Mackey. The wall sits close to several other named climbing areas, including Jaws Block/West Side Rock, Sand Rock and The Pinnacle, all about 0.1 mile away. The area has seven routes, all trad. The grades range from 5.6 to 5.10b/c, with the most common around 5.7. Two of the named routes are Climbing Merit Badge at 5.6 and Eagle Scout Project at 5.7. For comfortable weather, spring and fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gadsden run from highs of about 70°F in April to 71°F in October, while July highs average about 87°F and January highs about 49°F. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the wall run a little cooler. Weiss Lake, about 9 miles away, is the closest lake fishing spot.
