Stevenson Trail is a short, easy hike in Blevins Gap Preserve in Alabama, managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail is about half a mile long and rises roughly 130 feet from its starting point, making it a gentle out-and-back that fits easily into a longer day on the preserve's trail network. The route reaches a high point of about 925 feet, with the steepest stretch coming around the quarter-mile mark at about 12 percent grade. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 74°F with lows near 47°F, while April runs about 71°F by day and 46°F at night. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run a little cooler. The trail sits close to several other routes.
