Pinto Mountains

The Pinto Mountains are a small, isolated mountain range located in southeastern California, near the town of Joshua Tree. The range is characterized by rugged, rocky terrain with steep canyons and boulder-strewn slopes. The geology is dominated by ancient metamorphic and igneous rocks, creating a dramatic, arid landscape. Elevations range from around 3,000 feet in the canyons to just over 5,800 feet at the highest peaks. The climate is hot and dry, with very little precipitation, typical of the Mojave Desert environment.
