About Roxana

Roxana is a ghost town in northeastern Carson County, Texas, with roots in the oil industry of the 1920s. During that decade it functioned as a busy oil camp, drawing workers and activity typical of a boomtown era. When the oil boom faded, the community lost its reason to exist and declined quickly into abandonment.

Today Roxana is no longer an active settlement. Visitors should expect sparse or no standing structures, open Texas Panhandle terrain, and little formal infrastructure. It is the kind of place that appeals to those interested in regional history and photography rather than developed recreation.
