Phillips

Phillips is a ghost town in Hutchinson County, Texas, with an origin tied to two earlier communities. The town began as Pantex, Texas, before eventually merging with the neighboring community of Whittenburg in 1938. Residents voted to adopt the name Phillips at that time, honoring the Phillips Petroleum Company, which served as the dominant employer in the area.

Today Phillips stands as a quiet relic of the mid-twentieth century Texas oil era.
