Landergin

Landergin is a ghost town in Oldham County, Texas, born from the railroad era. When the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railway laid tracks through the area in 1908, a stop was established here on land belonging to brothers Patrick H. and John Landergin, whose name the settlement took on. By 1936 the community amounted to a single store and roughly fifteen residents — a modest footprint even in its active years.

Today Landergin exists as little more than a dot on the map. Visitors drawn to Texas ghost towns will find a sparse, windswept landscape with minimal documented remains. It is the kind of place best appreciated for its historical curiosity and wide-open setting rather than any substantial physical ruins.
