Mount Lassic Wilderness

Mount Lassic Wilderness is a 7,272-acre federally protected wilderness area in northern California, managed by the Forest Service. The landscape is primitive backcountry open only to non-motorized travel—no roads, motors, or mechanized equipment are permitted. This is genuine wilderness, offering hikers and backpackers a chance to experience solitude and untrammeled forest and ridgeline terrain away from development.

Visitors should come prepared for remote backcountry conditions and ready to practice Leave No Trace principles. Access is foot-traffic only; plan for self-sufficiency in navigation, water, and emergency response. Seasonal snow and weather will dictate the practical visiting window, with summer and early fall typically offering the most reliable conditions.
