Kanab Creek Wilderness

Kanab Creek Wilderness is a 61,501-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It preserves a remote backcountry landscape where primitive travel on foot or horseback is the only way to move through the terrain—no roads, motors, or mechanized equipment are permitted.

The wilderness offers backpacking and hiking for visitors seeking genuine solitude and untrammeled landscape. Access is foot-traffic only, and all visits must follow Leave No Trace principles. There are no developed facilities, marked trail systems, or services within the wilderness; preparation and self-reliance are essential. Water sources, navigation, and logistical planning require advance research and experience.
