Ishi Wilderness is a 42,484-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in California, managed by the Forest Service. It offers backcountry hikers and backpackers a primitive, non-motorized landscape where solitude and self-reliance are central to the experience. No roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted; visitors must travel on foot or horseback and adhere to Leave No Trace principles.
