Typical high / low (°F) and days with rain or snow, 1991–2020. Measured at Buffalo Bill Dam, WY, 0.7 mi away at 5,160 ft. The station sits about 700 ft lower than this place, so expect it a little cooler here. Source: NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991–2020.

Upper Bridge Bands is a climbing area in Buffalo Bill Reservoir State Park in Wyoming, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Hideout Wall, Central and The Bridge Bands all about 0.1 mile away. The area has one sport route, Rode A Stolen Horse, which is graded 5.11a. It is the only route listed here, so plan on a single climb rather than a long day of options. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Buffalo Bill Dam weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 57°F, and September still reaches about 71°F. That station sits roughly 750 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. For a change from the rock, Colter's Hell Trail is about 2.4 miles away and Paul Stock Nature Trail about 3.7 miles. Anglers can head to Seven Mountain, about 7.9 miles off, or Cody Canal, about 8 miles away.
