Central is a climbing area within Buffalo Bill Reservoir State Park in Wyoming, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. It sits close to the Buffalo Bill Dam, and the climbing here is spread across several named areas, including The Bridge Bands, Just For Kix Wall and The Hideout Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile of each other. The area has 10 routes in total, with seven sport routes and three trad routes. The grades range from 5.5 to 5.10b. Sport climbers will find Access (5.5) and Under Estimator (5.10b) among the options, while trad climbers can try I Like Big Tits (5.10b), first climbed in the mid-1980s by Monte Madsen and Kirt Cozzens. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Buffalo Bill Dam weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 57°F. Winter is cold, with January highs averaging about 39°F and a few days of snow each month from November through March. Colter's Hell Trail and the Paul Stock Nature Trail are both within about 4 miles for a change from climbing. Cody Canal, about 8 miles away, offers river fishing.
