Sugar Loaf is a climbing area in Wyoming's Laramie Peak Wildlife Habitat Management Area, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits within the management area's own climbing network, with the South Face Base climbing area just 0.1 mile away and the Sugar Loaf Dome Trail about 0.2 mile off. The area has six routes, five of which are trad and one is sport. The grades run from 5.8 to 5.10c, with the hardest being the 5.10c sport route Rolling Donkey. The trad routes include Bag of Tricks at 5.8, 10 Men With Regular Jobs at 5.9 and Thin Mint at 5.10+. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 83°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. That station sits about 1,500 feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run cooler. The Toaster Wall climbing area is about 1.2 miles away, and the Toaster Wall Trail is about 1.4 miles off. Lower Duck Creek Canyon and Gneiss Canyon are both about 2.2 miles away.
