It is a compact spot with two mixed routes, both rated in the 5.9 to 5.10- range, so it works well for a short outing rather than a full day on the rock. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Casper run from highs around 78°F and lows near 50°F in June to highs around 75°F and lows near 45°F in September. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the mountain, so temperatures on the summit run a little cooler. Rim Campground and Lodgepole Campground are both within about 8 miles, and the Skunk Hollow climbing area is just under 8 miles away. For a hike, the Crooked Pine Trail is about 9 miles off.
