West Bear Trap is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Kemmerer Ranger District of Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest, about 5.5 miles long with a total elevation gain of 1,606 feet. The trail starts at a low point of about 8,021 feet and climbs to a high of about 9,652 feet. The route is on natural surface, and the Forest Service allows both horses and bikes. The open season runs from May 1 to October 31. Bear Trap Creek and Roaring Creek are both within a mile, and Devils Hole Lakes is about 4.3 miles away. Hams Fork Campground, about 7.5 miles off, offers a place to stay.
