Sublette Mountain CDT Alternate is a 10.9-mile loop in Wyoming's Shoshone National Forest, within the Wind River Ranger District. The route rises about 530 feet from a low point of 9,062 feet to a high of 10,040 feet, and it is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trailhead parking is at Brooks Lake. The trip takes about four hours. The route is a loop, so the total elevation gain of 530 feet is for the whole trip rather than one way. The Brooks Lake parking area is the starting point. Jade Lake Trail lies about a mile away, and Sublette Pass and Brooks Lake Campground are each about 1.3 miles off. Pinnacles Campground is about 1.7 miles away.
