Francs Fork is a moderate out-and-back hike in Wyoming's Forest Service lands, about 11 miles from the town of Sunshine. The trail is roughly 4.3 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of about 100 feet, and it runs on natural surface. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Dubois weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 43°F, and the trail sits a few hundred feet higher than that station, so temperatures on the route run slightly cooler. The trail is accessible and allows horses. West Timber Creek Trail starts less than a mile away, and Timber Creek and Dick Creek Lakes Trail are within about 5 miles. For an overnight stay, Brown Mountain Campground is about 8 miles off.
