Coyote Trail is a short, easy hike in the Ashton/Island Park Ranger District of Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Wyoming, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 2.5 miles long, with a low point of 6,424 feet and a high of 6,555 feet, and it is an out-and-back route. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Alta put July highs around 79°F with lows near 48°F, and snow is common from November through April. The trail is natural-surface and allows both horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. Bitch Creek and Conant Pass are both within a mile, and Hidden Lake is about 2.3 miles away. For an overnight stay, Squirrel Meadows Cabin is about 4.6 miles off.
