Yellow Trail is a short, moderate cross-country ski route in Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern Unit. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land, and the trail's out-and-back course is just over a quarter mile long, with a total elevation gain of about 41 feet. It is a small, compact loop that works well as a quick addition to a day on the forest's trail network. Winter is the natural season for this ski trail. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show January highs around 26°F and lows near 12°F, with snow on about seven days that month. March is milder, with highs near 41°F and only about four snow days. The trail sits close to several other routes. Red Trail is about 0.1 mile away, and Green Trail is roughly half a mile off. For hiking, the Iat - Parnell Segment is about 3 miles away, and the Milwaukee River, a canoeing route, is just under 4 miles away.
