Brown Trail is a short, easy cross-country ski route in the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Northern Unit-Iansr in Wisconsin, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is an out-and-back with a total length of about 0.28 miles, and the climb is nearly flat, with a high point of 1,001 feet and a low of 998 feet. The route is so short that it works well as a quick addition to a longer outing on the surrounding network of trails. Winter is the natural season for this trail. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show January highs around 27°F with lows near 11°F, while March runs warmer at about 42°F. The station sits at nearly the same elevation as the trail, so these figures are a fair guide to conditions on the snow. Several other cross-country ski routes lie close by. Yellow Trail is about 0.1 mile away, Green Trail about 0.4 mile, and Red Trail about 0.7 mile. For a change of pace, the Iat - Parnell Segment hike is about 2 miles off.
